The YWCA is looking for volunteers and interns!

The Other Bank is looking for volunteers on Wednesdays from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. to help distribute essential health and hygiene supplies to low income families and individuals. We also need volunteers to help stock our shelves on Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Contact program director Randi Miller to volunteer.

One of the keys to Girls Without Limits! success as a program is our use of professional women as volunteer mentors for our sessions. We invite professional women with expertise in a wide variety of areas to volunteer with our clubs. Contact program coordinator Jocelyn Finch to volunteer.

Some of the professional women we’ve had volunteer as mentors were:

  • Auto mechanics
  • Chemists
  • Senators
  • Bankers
  • Newspaper Editors
  • Emergency Medical Technicians
  • Veterinarians
  • Wildlife Experts
  • Doctors
  • Photographers
  • City Councilwomen
  • Lobbyists
  • Actors
  • Attorneys
  • Acupuncturists
  • Business Owners
  • Reporters
  • Nonprofit volunteers
  • College students
  • High school students

Girls Without Limits! is also looking for volunteers to help with activities at our after-school clubs. They are held on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. Having volunteers allows our clubs to serve more girls and you become an important role-model to the young women in this program.

Every woman has something to share with these girls to show them all the possibilities that are out there waiting for them. If you would be interested in sharing your professional experiences, expertise in a particular field, or just some of your time participating in activities or field trips, Girls Without Limits! would love to hear from you.

For more information about these and other volunteer opportunities, contact the YWCA staff at (360) 352-0593 ywca@ywcaofolympia.org.
