Did you miss our first Open Space Forum in March? You are invited to our second Open Space Forum on JUNE 27 at 5:30pm to explore the future path for YWCA Olympia. As you know, we've been working on racial and gender equity and we need the help of the entire community in further identifying current issues, future challenges and creative solutions.
In alignment with our mission to eliminate racism and sexism to advance the political, social and economic status of all women and girls, we are inviting the community to engage in a visioning process and an equalitarian conversation aligned with the theme of "Eliminating Racism and Empowering All Women and Girls: What Does Our Collective Future Hold?"
Our objectives are to bring together people like yourself and/or your organization or program to collaboratively create a vision of a community where all people are valued, live free from oppression and thrive, and to assist the YWCA in identifying a path forward for this movement.
Led by RoseAnn Stevenson, PhD (YWCA Olympia Board Member and Former Boeing Management Development Manager), the Open Space methodology is carefully designed to elicit maximum involvement and creativity in a constructive atmosphere. It is also highly flexible so that the content is entirely determined by YOU -- the participants. The event will be inventive, creative, productive and full of surprises.
Participation in this event is absolutely voluntary. The only penalty for not showing up is that you will miss an opportunity to learn, engage in this critical and timely community conversation and contribute your ideas.
Advance registration is necessary. When you sign up, keep in mind that you are committing to stay for the 4.5 hour session. The event simply won't work with people dropping in and out.
We look forward to working with you to answer the critical questions: What would it look like for our community to eliminate racism and sexism? And, what should be our charted path to achieving this?
WHEN: Tuesday, June 27 from 5:30-9:00, dinner will be served (donations welcomed)
WHERE: Lacey Community Center (6729 Pacific Ave SE, 98503)
