Kathleen’s Closet is a division of the Economic Empowerment Program at YWCA Olympia. Kathleen’s Closet helps unemployed and underemployed women by providing no-cost professional attire to women seeking employment and those just starting a job. We work with women to create not only an interview outfit, but also supply the pieces to mix and match to create a foundation for their professional wardrobe.
"As a job seeker here in Thurston County, I just want to document my wonderful experience with Kathleen's Closet at the YWCA of Olympia. My goodness, what a tremendous service they are doing for us female clients. Truly, I was given so many nice things (some had designer labels!) to help me make my physical presentation to employers fresh and above all, professional! Bravo Kathleen's Closet and THANK YOU!” - Melodie
“While at Kathleen’s Closet I had many options, but no clue about what size I wore. I asked Heather for help and she let me measure myself. She quickly told me what size I was and showed me numerous options. Getting measured took the stress and so much time out of the appointment. I really enjoyed my experience at Kathleen’s Closet.” - Liz
“Going into Kathleen’s Closet was a little overwhelming looking at all this professional attire that I never thought I would be wearing. I m always casual and comfortable clothes. Seeing myself all dressed up looking nice really boosted my self esteem. I’d like to say thank you to YWCA and Kathleen’s Closet for the opportunity to look great and fell good in the clothes I got to pick out” - Nancy
