Our Day Center has closed but we are still here to help!
We will continue to offer assistance for specific needs to women on Mondays and Thursdays, walk in or call for an appointment with Bree Lafreniere our Women’s Resource Director, 352-0593.
During the winter, women were offered hot drinks, use of the computers, phone and bathrooms as well as a bed in the event they were ill. They also did art projects and provided company to each other. We connected them with resources. The service was only made possible by a group of kind, generous volunteers who hosted the day center and offered practical assistance and words of encouragement. Thank you to all those volunteers.
The women conducted a personal strengths mandala workshop and agreed to share pictures of their works with all of you. The outcome of this workshop was amazing, from having no connection to their own self worth, to finding the beauty and strength within.
The YWCA’s Women’s Resource Center, which has also been referred to as Kathleen’s Clubhouse, offers a new resource for single, childless women who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness.
WRC is a safe, day center where homeless women can rest and receive services so that they can begin to return to a stable life.
Women’s Resource Center closed for the 2011/2012 season….check back for the new season’s hours!
