Now that winter has ended, our day center for homeless women will be closing. We will continue to offer assistance for specific needs to women on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. During the winter, women were offered hot drinks, use of the computers, phone and bathrooms as well as a bed in the event they were ill. They also did art projects and provided company to each other. We connected them with resources. The service was only made possible by a group of kind, generous volunteers who hosted the day center and offered practical assistance and words of encouragement. Thank you to all those volunteers.
CELL PHONES! Please consider donating your used cell phone to the YWCA of Olympia! We are collecting cell phones and sending them to the Shelter Alliance program that in turn provide us with funds to help with our programs. For more information visit www.shelteralliance.net and learn about this great program.
